Job Title: Accountant Job Station: Jinja City Department: Accounting and Finance Reports To: Director Finance & Station Manager Job summary We are seeking to hire an Accountant who will be responsible for managing transactions, preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualifications/competences
  • • Bachelor’s degree in commerce specialized in accounting/diploma in accounting or any related field with at least two years’ experience in the related field. CPA and ACCA will be an added advantage.
  • • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • • Proficiency in accounting software especially QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel).
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • • Strong understanding of EFRIS.
  • • Ability to file all tax returns. I.e. (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, WHT, INCOME TAX etc.)
  • • 30 years and below

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the position. For roles that interact directly with our audience (such as presenters, reporters, or customer-facing positions), fluency in at least one local language (preferably Lusoga or Luganda) along with English is typically required. For technical and behind-the-scenes roles, English proficiency may be sufficient.

Our interview process usually includes an initial phone screening, followed by one or two in-person interviews. Depending on the role, we may also include practical assessments (such as presenting a mock radio segment, writing a news story, or technical demonstrations). For senior positions, there may be additional rounds with executive management.

Most of our positions require on-site presence due to the nature of broadcasting and studio work. However, some roles in digital content, marketing, and administrative functions may offer hybrid work arrangements after an initial onboarding period. Each job posting will specify the work arrangement possibilities.

We offer both formal and on-the-job training for all employees. This includes technical skills development, soft skills training, and professional certifications where applicable. We also provide mentorship opportunities and encourage staff to attend media industry workshops and conferences.
